Chiefs are believed to not be done with their signings or outgoings just as yet, with Stellenbosch FC midfielder Sibongiseni Mthethwa thought to be a player of vast interest to the club. Mthethwa is a player that has long been touted as a target for Chiefs and it was expected that they would test Stellenbosch’s resolve with a bid last season, but it never came. This time around, it was also expected that things would prove to be even more difficult if Amakhosi trying to sign him, with the Western Cape side saying none of their top players will be for sale.

It may now seem as if Stellenbosch have softened their stance on Mthethwa, probably realising that, with a season to go on his contract, it might be better to cash in. Interestingly enough, however, it looks as if it won’t be Chiefs who will be looking to sign the tough midfielder, but rather AmaZulu. According to The Citizen, Usuthu are ready to give it their all in an effort bring the player back to KZN.

AmaZulu to beat Chiefs to Mthethwa?

“They (AmaZulu) have already started negotiations but it seems they will have to dig deep because Stellies are not willing to part with Mthethwa as yet,” said a source to the same publication.
