Sundowns welcome Black Leopards to Loftus Versveld for the first league encounter between the two sides since 2013.

Both teams drew a blank last time out in the league but Sundowns have since scored a morale-boosting Caf Champions League win over ASEC Mimosas.

The loss to Amazulu may have knocked back the Brazilians title hopes but they remain in contention to win back-to-back PSL titles as they sit six points behind league leaders Bidvest Wits but sport two games in hand.

Wits failed to make the most of Sundowns absences from the league over December and January leaving the title race in perfect tension.

Black Leopards may have more humble ambitions but well travelled English coach Dylan Kerr appears to have the Limpopo team on course to stay in the PSL, which would have been their immediate goal after securing promotion last season.

Leopards have won just one game away from home, when they beat Baroka in Polokwane to claim Limpopo derby bragging rights but will take heart from Amazulu’s 2-0 win at Loftus.

Kerr intimated ahead of the contest that he would field the same XI that went down 3-0 to Bloemfontein Celtic at the Dr. Petrus Molemela Stadium barring Khuliso Mudau. Mudau is suspended after receiving his marching orders in Bloem.

Sundowns captain Hlompho Kekana will be looking to put away the team that gave him his start in football but there can be no room for sentiment in such a tight title race. The Brazilians should be favourites for this clash given their position in the table, the extra day of preparation they have had and their home field advantage.
