Abha FC manager Pitso Mosimane and his wife/agent Moira Tlhagale has reportedly subpoenaed Mamelodi Sundowns coaches in his R8.6 million court battle with the club.

According to a report by Sunday World, Mosimane and Tlhagale will not go down without a fight.

The two parties are at loggerheads over a commission fee in the region of R8.6 million in the Johannesburg High Court.

This relates to when Mosimane signed a new four-year deal with Sundowns in 2020 but never really honoured it as he soon afterwards left for Al Ahly.

Now, Sundowns are demanding that his agency, MT Sports and Marketing, pay back the money as Mosimane didn’t see the contract through.

Mosimane and his wife don’t believe they are obliged to pay back the said amount as they received Patrice Motsepe’s blessings for the Al Ahly.

At the time, both Manqoba Mngqithi and Rulani Mokwena also renewed their contracts – and they stayed and went on becoming co-coaches at Sundowns.

But prior to their appointment in 2020, both Mngqithi and Mokwena were Mosimane’s assistants, and the agency, MT Sports and Marketing, wants the pair to testify.

All Mngqithi and Mokwena will be required to do in the High Court is to reveal the terms and conditions of their contracts signed in 2020.

Furthermore, their agents, Mike Makaab representing Mngqithi and Steve Kapeluschnik who represents Mokwena, have also been subpoenaed, says the publication.

PITSO SUBPOENAS MNGQITHI, RULANI AND THEIR AGENTS

“Pitso Mosimane and his wife Moira Tlhagale are fighting like centurions in a bloodletting battle after they subpoenaed Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Rulani Mokwena and his assistant Manqoba Mngqithi to appear in the Johannesburg High Court to reveal the terms and conditions of their contracts,” reads part of the report.

“Mosimane and Tlhagale have also subpoenaed Mokwena’s agent, Steve Kapeluschnik, and Mngqithi’s agent, Mike Makaab, to testify about the contracts of their clients.”

HOW RULANI REJECTED AL AHLY AT 11TH HOUR

Meanwhile, Mokwena was recently in the news after it emerged that he made a last-minute U-turn on leaving Sundowns with Mosimane to Al Ahly in 2020.

At the time, Mokwena had just returned to the club following stints with Orlando Pirates and Chippa United.

In October 2020, Mosimane received a bumper offer to join Al Ahly, and Mosimane wanted him to join him at the Egyptian giants, according to Sunday World.

Had Mokwena not change his mind, he would be in Saudi Arabia with Mosimane who’s coaching relegation-hreatened Abha FC.
