Al Ahli Saudi coach Pitso Mosimane has reacted to being snubbed the Coach of the Season award despite helping his team win the league.

Mosimane joined Al Ahli in October, and this was five games into the season with the team in seventh position, and he soldiered on and delivered on his mandate to promote them.
Now, having recently been named Coach of the Month for May, Mosimane was a strong contender to win the accolade but it wasn’t to be as he lost to Al Hazem coach Philippe Gouveia.

Al Hazem finished second behind Mosimane’s Al Ahli, but they have also gained promotion to the Saudi Pro League for the new season.
Now, Mosimane doesn’t seem too bothered by the snub, saying he values team achievements than individual accolades.

He indicated in a tweet that winning the Coach of the Month award twice (in February and March) was enough for him, before quoting the Bible about sharing and not being greedy.

“Winning promotion way before all the teams and winning league is very important for me,” wrote Mosimane.
“I value the team than individual achievements, I was recognised for being Coach of the Month two times.
“God says, be happy with what I give you, don’t envy neighbours. Avoid greediness, we shall share and I love all my children.”
