Orlando Pirates set to unveil another Cameroon striker – report

Orlando Pirates are reportedly set to unveil a Cameroonian striker who has been included in the Indomitable Lions squad for the FIFA World Cup.

Orlando Pirates are reportedly set to unveil a Cameroonian striker who has been included in the Indomitable Lions squad for the FIFA World Cup.

According to Cameroonian publication Kick442.com, Pirates have reached an agreement to sign Marou Souaibou from Coton Sport on a three-year deal.

Souaibou, 21, who took the domestic league by storm this year, and his efforts didn’t go unnoticed as he recently scooped the Footballer of the Year award for 2022.

Last season, Souaibou scored 21 goals across all competitions for Coton Sport, and his club has reportedly agreed to let him join Pirates in January.

ORLANDO PIRATES AGREE DEAL TO SIGN CAMEROON STRIKER?

According to the publication, Pirates and Coton Sport agreed Souaibou’s deal this week and this was before he could be included in Rigobert Song’s final squad for the World Cup.

Having possibly played his final game for Coton Sport, Souaibou will leave as a legend of 30 goals in 63 competitive matches for the club.

Souaibou made his debut for Cameroon senior national team on Wednesday against Jamaica. The two nations played to a 1-1 draw.
