An underrated Orlando Pirates striker is in talks with the club’s Soweto rivals for a possible move after being overlooked yet again.

An underrated Orlando Pirates striker is in talks with the club’s Soweto rivals for a possible move after being overlooked yet again.

Tshegofatso Mabasa will not be part of Jose Riveiro’s squad for the new season, and Pirates are in talks with Swallows over a loan deal.

Mabasa spent the previous season on loan at Sekhukhune United but he still couldn’t command a regular place in the starting line-up.

Now, the left-footer would hope to get more minutes under the tutelage of Steve Komphela who joined Swallows FC last weekend.

Meanwhile, a former Orlando Pirates goalkeeper coach has found a new club in Europe almost three years after leaving the PSL giants.

Jyri Nieminen is the new Feyenoord goalkeeper coach, and he joins them from New York Red Bulls in the US, the club confirmed in a statement.

Nieminen, who was born in Finland, will now get to work in Eredivisie where he will try and gain as much experience as possible.

The 35-year-old has been around the blocks for years with different clubs across the world, including the national teams.
