Those players putting pen to paper at Chiefs has been more or less an open secret for a while now, with fans and the football fraternity just waiting for the club to officially announce them. Looking at that list, three of the six in Chivaviro, Mmodi and Mdantsane are capable of playing in offensive positions. But it looks like new head coach Molefi Ntseki may not be done yet in that regard.

Ntseki is reportedly still on the look out for attacking players with strikers, attacking midfielder and wingers still being linked with Chiefs. One player’s name that has popped again this week is that of former Mamelodi Sundowns winger Surprise Ralani. That may come as a shock to many, seeing the plethora of options Amakhosi currently have in wide areas. Keegan Dolly, Ashley du Preez, Pule Mmodi, Mduduzi Shabalala, Kgaogelo Sekgota and Kamohelo Mahlatsi to name some.

It may now seem as if some may have been deemed quantity rather than quality and according ton Soccer-Laduma, Chiefs are keen to offload Sekgota and Mahlatsiahead of the next season.

Mahlatsi to return to SuperSport?

“The SuperSport United development product made just seven appearances in all competitions for Amakhosi, making just three starts for the side. Indications are that he will not be at the club by the time the transfer window closes at the end of August. The Siya crew has reported that Mahlatsi could return to SuperSport.” The publication wrote on the former Swallows FC man.

Sekgota on the Chiefs transfer list?

“Amakhosi, meanwhile, could place Sekgota on the transfer list as he heads into the Dnal year of his contract with the club. According to information received by the Siya crew, there has been concerns over his form and consistency since joining the club two seasons ago from the Dube Birds and Amakhosi are open to losing him, if there are teams that would be interested in bringing him on board.” They wrote about the other former Swallows man.

When Chiefs will make the decision on both Sekgota and Mahlatsi remains to be seen, but it could also be the perfect opportunity to cash in on the duo and reinvest.
