Orlando Pirates top target to replace Percy Tau? 

Orlando Pirates are believed to be ready to go into the market for yet another striker in the off-season. 

Pirates are believed to already be closing in on DRC striker Andy Boyeli but that doesn’t seem to be enough.

They’re also believed to be in the race for Ivorian striker Freddy Michael Kouablan, with archrivals Kaizer Chiefs. The club was already active in the recently concluded January transfer window. The likes of Thabiso Lebitso and Talent Mbatha were roped in by Pirates, who then saw Bienvenu Eva Nga released. Then perhaps, the biggest outgoing was that of club stalwart Thembinkosi Lorch. The playmaker shocked the local football fraternity by securing a deadline-day move to rivals Mamelodi Sundowns.

Just last week, it was rumoured that they’re monitoring veteran Swati goal machine Sabelo Ndzinisa and Tremaine Eastmond. Last week this publication also reported that they may have offered Young Africans (Yanga) star Stephane Azizi Ki a pre-contract.

Now according to Soccer-Laduma, Al Ahly have been offered Aziz Ki in a move that could alert Pirates.

“According to One 3 News, the 12-time Burkina Faso international has been offered to record African champions Al Ahly. The same report claims that a Jnal decision will ultimately rest on head coach Marcel Koller and whether or not he thinks Aziz Ki would be a suitable addition to the squad.” Wrote the publication. 

Al Ahly have recently been thought to be willing to part ways with Bafana Bafana forward Percy Tau. It is thought that the sale would be sanctioned if they find the right replacement. Could that be the Yanga star? Reports came out on Tuesday that Aziz Ki was offered a contract by another Egyptian giant. That team being Pyramids FC. They’re a team that has shown a vast growth not only in their local league, but continentally. For that reason, they can prove a better proposition to the attacker than Pirates.

Besides Pirates, Sekhukhune United are also rumoured to be interested in Aziz Ki. Ba bina Noko are also known to be capable for spending top dollar to deserving players. It now remains to be seen if either can compete with Pyramids or Al Ahly.
