Orlando Pirates star midfielder Miguel Timm is unfazed when looking at their hectic schedule ahead of the 2023/24 DStv Premiership season.

Pirates will compete in five competitions and that is the reason coach Jose Riveiro is beefing up his squad with new additions such as Lesedi Kapinga, per TimesLIVE.

The former Marumo Gallants midfield general, Timm has also shared a piece of advice on how can Pirates remain hungry as a squad and have faith in their abilities.

“We are more than capable. I think we have enough depth. And not just enough depth, there’s enough quality to compete on all fronts,” said Pirates star Timm.

“We know injuries come along during the season, so I think when changes are needed, as long as continuity is there in terms of the quality of the game and the style we play, we shouldn’t have any issues.”

Speaking about their recent European pre-season camp, he said Pirates players managed to gauge their progress as a team.

“It was very productive. We learned a lot as individuals and as a group. I can confidently say we’re on a level of top teams around the world,” he added.

“I think we tend to downplay that a lot in our country. We tend to undermine ourselves just because people are based in Europe and we’re here. We proved as a group that’s not the case. That gives us confidence going forward.”

WHY KAPINGA CHOSE BUCS, TIMM UNFAZED BY TIGHT SCHEDULE

The South African previously reported that former Mamelodi Sundowns attacker, Kapinga opted to choose Pirates because of hunger for trophies.

Despite massive interest from PSL rivals such as Kaizer Chiefs, the ambition shown by Riveiro to win trophies is what lured Kapinga to the Buccaneers’ camp.

“Kapinga is still hungry for trophies and that is the reason he chose to join Pirates,” Kapinga’s agent Moses Mudau told Isolezwe.

“Pirates will play in the Champions League next season and they still want to win trophies in the DStv Premiership space.”
