Orlando Pirates full-back Thabiso Monyane has confirmed his return to fitness after a knee injury kept him on the sidelines.

Monyane suffered a knee injury in the Soweto Derby on 11 November 2023. The speedy defender was forced off just five minutes into his side’s clash against rivals Kaizer Chiefs.

The good news however is that Monyane is back in action after nursing his injury.

Orlando Pirates star opens up on knee injury

“Well, I can say I’m good, I’m feeling good, and I’m ready to contribute towards the goals of the club,” Monyane said as quoted by FarPost.

“It hasn’t been the best of time because I remember the match before I got injured. I scored against Sekhukhune United, and I was on a run of form. I was really looking good, and four minutes into the derby, I sustained an injury.

“And to me, that’s a setback, but just like any other setback, there’s a great comeback. So that’s past me now, and I’m really looking forward to the [FIFA] World Cup qualifiers with the national team and the club goals. I’m looking forward to taking the club to second position.”
