A former Orlando Pirates star tipped for a bright future in professional coaching is on the road, furthering his coaching qualifications

Former Orlando Pirates star Mark Mayambela is reportedly set to complete his CAF B coaching licence.

The skillful winger who made a name for himself at Bloemfontein Celtic before joining the Buccaneers in 2010 already holds a UEFA B licence.

According to the latest reports, Mayambela is currently out in Lesotho partaking in the CAF B course.

“This publication has now learnt that Mayambela – ever the student of the game – is currently in Lesotho to complete his CAF B Licence.” an IdiskiTimes report read.

“The 35-year-old currently works as youth coach at Cape Town City and started his coaching career on a bright note, winning 2022 Engen Knockout Challenge as assistant coach under Byron Clotte.”

The league is the most important trophy – Jose

“The league is the most important competition, it goes without saying,” Orlando Pirates head coach Jose Riveiro said as quoted by TimesLive.

“Thirty games, 15 away and home against everyone in every circumstance, hot and raining. So, it’s the most important competition and we really want to find our rhythm there.

“Now we have played our fourth competition in two months and a half. We are trying to keep the level in all competitions we play. It is difficult mentally to face these kinds of competitions in a very short space of time.”
