Love it or hate it, South African football banter is here to stay. While Orlando Pirates fans are confused about Lesedi Kapinga’s situation at Mayfair, Mamelodi Sundowns are not holding back on the banter.

Kapinga joined the Buccaneers at the beginning of the season with the hope of earning much needed game-time.

The skillful midfielder endured a difficult time at the star-studded Mamelodi Sundowns however his release from ‘prison’, as many fans claimed, isn’t going according to plan.

In fact, during the first half of the campaign at Orlando Pirates, Kapinga made just one start for the club against Jwaneng Galaxy in the CAF Champions League.

“Professional football players have to perform and sometimes make mistakes. We all make mistakes in our professions. We are not superheroes, we don’t do everything perfectly. It was a mistake, but football is a game of mistakes.” Jose Riveiro said as quoted by Sowetan.
