Pirates have been linked with a couple attackers during this window, with an academy star the latest to join the list.

It is believed that Pirates are trying to offload some of their attackers, including Cameroonian duo Souaibou Marou and Bienvenu Eva Nga. Both of the strikers have had very little impact since joining Pirates, with Eva Nga joining from Chippa United at the beginning of the season, while Marou entered the Buccaneers ship from his native. Much was expected of Marou having been part of a Cameroon squad that featured many players playing abroad at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. He is now thought to be available for transfer in the current transfer window.

It is then thought that, if Pirates can get rid of that striking duo, they can focus on bringing in some of the attacking talent they have been linked with. Some of those players including Elias Mokwana, Andy Bobwa Boyeli as well as Lanjesi Nkhoma. Now according to Soccer-Laduma, they’re also considering promoting DStv Diski Challenge forward Mohau Nkota.

Pirates to promote Nkota?

“At the moment they (Pirates) feel it’s easier to promote their own youngsters than looking from the outside. Mohau (Nkota) has been training with the first team since last season and he is used to the players and the technical team right now, hey believe he can contribute a lot to the senior team in terms of the attacking system that they use and that’s why they have promoted him. Just like they did with Relebohile (Mofokeng) they are gradually blending him in and it is working for the team as he can help the senior team as well as the DDC side at the same time,”said the source.

Kota recently pulled off a Man of the Match performance against Mamelodi Sundowns in DDC. He will now undoubtedly hope that it pushed him closer to the Pirates senior team.
