A former Orlando Pirates striker coach has shot down the idea of possibly joining Kaizer Chiefs following his departure from South Africa not so long ago.

Scott Chickelday had joined Pirates on a short-term deal to assist then with their well-documented goalscoring woes.

At the time, Pirates had scored 10 league goals in 15 matches – all in the first half – but that changed as soon as Chickelady arrived at Myfair.

In the three games that followed, Pirates scored a whopping nine goals and all the credit was given to Chickelday for his impact and influence.

Now, with Chiefs seemingly to score goals, Chickelady was asked if he would consider a return to South Africa to help Pirates’ arch-rivals, and he doesn’t it happening.

And that’s because he believes Pirates fans wouldn’t be happy with that, adding that at this point in time, his heart is with the Sea Robbers.

FORMER ORLANDO PIRATES STRIKER COACH RULES OUT KAIZER CHIEFS

“It depends. I don’t think the Orlando Pirates supporters would be happy, they would lynch me if I went back to join Kaizer Chiefs (laughs),” Chickelday told iDiski Times in an exclusive interview.

“Oh, just like I said, my heart and everything’s with Orlando Pirates at the minute. So, Orlando Pirates are very much my only target,” he continued.

“Look, who knows? I might be back out there soon. I don’t know yet. So we’ll see,” he stated.

“But it was, like I said, a great experience, fantastic club and not just a fantastic club, but a fantastic culture.

“I was made to feel so welcomed by everyone in my time there. And like I said, it is a place that I would like to come back to,” added Chickelday.
