Orlando Pirates: PSL veteran heading out of Mayfair! – Report

An Orlando Pirates veteran is reportedly on his way out of Mayfair. In fact, he is likely going to be loaned out by the Bucs in the next transfer window.

37-year-old PSL veteran, Siyabonga Mpontshane is reportedly set to be loaned out by the Bucs in the next transfer window.

This comes despite the fact that the goalkeeper signed a one-year extension earlier this season.

PIRATES TO LOAN OUT MPONTSHANE?

Since extending his contract with the Bucs, Mpontshane has not featured.

Furthermore, he has fallen further down the pecking order.

Sipho Chaine grabbed all the headlines with his match-winning performance against Mamelodi Sundowns in the MTN8 final. Therefore, further establishing himself as the first-choice Bucs keeper.

They also have Ghanaian veteran Richard Ofori, new recruit Melusi Buthelezi and youngster Zoey Monyepao in the picture.

BUCS MANAGEMENT WANT HIM PLAYING AT ANOTHER CLUB

Meaning, he is unlikely to get much game time if he stays at Mayfair. Bucs management want to see him play more and his best chances of this are at another club.

“The thing is they want him to play. If you look at his age it’s at a stage where he needs more gametime but as it stands now he won’t get that at the club and that’s why they are looking at loaning him out in January as his contract is only expiring on June 2024,” the Siya source stated on SoccerLaduma.
