Pirates players are like robots in Lorch’s absence

Orlando Pirates legend Vincent Sokhela has raised questions about Thembinkosi Lorch and Vincent Pule’s absence, saying some of the players are like robots.

Sokhela argues that Pirates players can see the coach, Jose Riveiro’s plan is sometimes not working but they fail to improvise.

The retired former Bush Bucks and Pirates midfielder has raised concerns about Lorch and Pule’s prolonged absence.

While reports suggested that Pule and Lorch are injured, Sokhela is worried the club doesn’t provide updates.

Sokhela believes Lorch and Pule would be key as Pirates will meet Mamelodi Sundowns this weekend.

“It seems as if we don’t have a core of our team, the coach doesn’t seem to have his best eleven,” Sokhela told Isolezwe.

“There is no clarity on players such as Lorch and Pule. We don’t see them and we don’t know why Pirates can’t play them.

“The other thing is that the players don’t change the way the team plays even if the coach’s plan doesn’t work. They are like robots.”

Sokhela added that Lorch and Pule would help Riveiro to open up Sundowns in the MTN8 final at Moses Mabhida Stadium.

The former CAF Champions League winner continued to lament the absence of the two players.

“The problem is Lorch and Pule are the two players who are capable of opening up Sundowns – but they are not available,” he added.

“However, in a cup final game, anything can happen.”
