According to SABC Sports’ Mazola Molefe, Sam has dropped Chippa United in favour of staying in Johannesburg.

“As previously reported by SABC Sport, defender Bongani Sam is leaving Orlando Pirates on yet another loan spell,” the report said.

“Chippa United were understood to be favourites to sign the player ahead of the 2023/24 campaign, but it’s their Soweto rivals Swallows FC who’ve managed to conclude a deal to keep Sam in Gauteng,” the report added.
