ORLANDO PIRATES WIN TWO GAMES IN SPAIN AGAINST TEL AVIV AND INDEPENDIENTE

FIVE PLAYERS IMPRESS

Having watch the previous two games, five players in black caught the eye…

  1. Sandile Mthethwa – Following Maccabi’s stronger second display that pinned the Buccaneers back, the lanky central defender was the most-composed defender with clean passing and ball-carries out of the pressure.
  2. Paseka Mako – The dynamic left-back was the most energetic player on the pitch. One moment saw Mako press Maccabi’s central defenders and the goalkeeper before sprinting back to his number three position.
  3. Thabang Monare – Pirates dominated the first half because of Monare’s aggression, pressing and technical qualities.
  4. Makhehlene Makhaula – He was as classy as Monare in the middle of the park.
  5. Evidence Makgopa – Did not enjoy enough space to attack but was marvelous in defending from the top. He has certainly learned from Terrence Dzvukamanja.
