This is our nostalgic Pirates signing of the day feature. Today we have a legendary name.

ORLANDO PIRATES SIGNING OF THE DAY: LEBOHANG MOKOENA

Today’s featured transfer was signed from the club’s development in 2003. He was aged 17 and named Lebohang Mokoena.

Hailing from Diepkloof, Soweto, the player known as “Cheeseboy” went on to wear the Bucs jersey for six years.

Mokoena was lured lured away by Sundowns’ new big money in 2009. The attacking midfielder later won two league titles with Kabo Yellow in 2014 and 2016.
