Making his debut for Pirates on Wednesday, the 17-year-old Ratomo dazzled Royal AM’s defenders with unpredictable turns, and take-ons before his deflected shot found the net on 56 minutes. It was sadly marked as an own goal.

The teenager from Sharpville basically stole the show with that arrogance and ball-confidence Pirates fans love to see.

While AM’s Jabulani Ncobeni took home the Man of the Match gong, Ratomo was truly unlucky to miss the award.

The game ended 1-1 after the former Pirates star Menzi Masuku snatched the equaliser on 90+1 minute.

Meanwhile, Ratomo has raised his hand to be included in the team to face Kaizer Chiefs in the Nedbank Cup semi-finals. He will at least come on as a substitute, surely?
