ICYMI: Chiefs poised to swoop for troubled ex-Orlando Pirates star

Dzvukamanja heading for Matsatsantsa

Zimbabwean striker Terrence Dzvukamanja hit form at the back-end of 2022-23 for Pirates, notably scoring in the Nedbank Cup final deep into stoppage time to secure the trophy. Therefore, it’s a surprise to see that he’s being released by the Buccaneers. You can read details of this surprise deal via popular ITK source UnplayableZA. As recently as last month, the club indicated they were in talks with the 29-year-old on a new contract. This is quite the shock development.

Orlando Pirates still have a surplus of strikers

Even with the impending exit of Dzvukamanja, Jose Riveiro’s double winners still have too many players to fill a limited number of slots up top. The Sea Robbers begin the defence of their MTN8 crown against Sekhukhune. They’ve recruited Patrick Maswanganyi from SuperSport but now Dzvukamanja is heading the other way.
