Orlando Pirates have reportedly completed the signing of another surprise signing!

The Buccaneers have already welcomed Sephelo Baloni from Cape Town All Stars and Katlego Otladisa from Marumo Gallants.

Furthermore, Melusi Buthelezi from TS Galaxy and Patrick Maswanganyi from SuperSport United have joined the club.

And now, another surprise signing has reportedly been completed in Mayfair! According to reports, Dondol Stars Goalkeeper Sphamandla Gumede has signed on the dotted line in Mayfair.

“We’re very proud of Sphamandla Gumede. Last season he was supposed to join the Richards Bay DDC team but I had to fight his parents.” Dondol Stars’ chairman told Citizen.

“We are vindicated for that because Orlando Pirates is one of the biggest teams in the country, and giving him a contract says a lot.

“We’re proud because it is a direct move from ABC Motsepe league to Pirates, and it’s good for the boy and our brand as a club.

“The thing about SuperSport United (link), remember some journalists fabricate stories. Remember, Sphamandla is from the Academy of SuperSport, but the only confirmation I got was from Orlando Pirates.

“Because they contacted us for his clearance and confirmed that they have given him a contract but with other teams, I don’t know, it might have been hearsay.”

“No, we don’t have the right team. We have the best team. We have good players in all the departments. Looking at how we won the two trophies and finished second in the league shows you how good the team is.” Motale told SoccerLaduma.

“That’s (Orlando Pirates’ pre-season camp in Spain) great. It’s really a great move. They will see how the Spaniards and other countries do things.

“They should play Spanish, German and English teams so that when they go to Cameroon or Ghana, then they are not intimidated.

“Also, it’s summer there, and it’s good to train there because in other parts of Africa, it’s very hot, so they should get used to playing in that heat as early as possible. It’s really good that they went to Spain.”
