Patrick Maswanganyi’s move to Orlando Pirates may have come as a surprise to many but for the management at the club, it was a case of ‘finally’ landing their target.

Maswanganyi joined the Buccaneers from SuperSport United in a move that not many saw coming.

He quickly hit the ground running with a solid pre-season showing in Spain before continuing with his hot form during the new season.

It has since been revealed that the Buccaneers were after Maswanganyi’s signature for some time now.

Orlando Pirates management were already monitoring the talented midfielder from his academy days at Farouk Khan’s famed Stars of Africa Academy!

Maswanganyi moved straight to Portugal after graduating from the Stars academy in 2019 before joining SuperSport United in 2022.

“A lot of people didn’t know Tito (Maswaganyi) before he signed for Pirates. That is why people are asking themselves how SuperSport let go of such talent so easily. Pirates have always been after him, ever since his days at Farouk’s academy.” a source told Citizen.

In other news, former Orlando Pirates attacker Bernard Morrison has completed a move to Botola Pro Champions AS FAR Rabat.

The 30-year-old Ghanaian star signed a one year contract at the Moroccan giants, with an option to extend by one more season.

Morrison spent two seasons at the Buccaneers better 2016 and 2018 where he made 23 appearances for the club, scoring four goals.
