Orlando Pirates chairman full of praise for Pitso Mosimane
Dr Khoza spoke recently about Pitso after officially opening a multipurpose sports facility at Lofentse Girls High School in Soweto. The facility was named after the renowned coach and Nedbank Cup ambassador, Pitso Mosimane. Khoza has revealed chairman how Mosimane’s dedication makes him better than the rest of his peers.
“That’s why in our comment about Pitso [Mosimane], we had to make these kids understand that you don’t just get things,” said Dr Khoza.
“You earn them, and Pitso, in his eyes, he showed determination. Imagine a guy from South Africa attending a game in Sudan.
“He went into a taxi to Algeria, in a taxi, he doesn’t speak or understand the language. He is not sure what is going to happen with him.
“But he went, there to go and spy. His success today is not because of anything. But it’s his commitment and determination. It’s important for Pitso to motivate these kids who think it easy, being on Instagram and Facebook,” he said.

KHOZA PREDICTED PITSO’S SUCCESS
Dr Khoza revealed that after the 2019-20 campaign, he saw great things for Pitso in the future. Mosimane won the Coach of the year for the third consecutive campaign in 2020 after winning a domestic treble with the Brazilians. Pitso then headed to Egypt to coach Al Ahly, who he steered to two CAF Champions League crowns.
And Dr Khoza added: “There is more effort that is required, especially that we are competing globally. Pitso had no boundaries. He never undermined himself.
“In fact, in the awards, when I said to you why this boy is going to surprise Africa, not before it happened.
“It’s important for me to repeat it so that the school children see that he didn’t get these things by mistake or contact. He worked very hard, so work ethic is important,” Dr Khoza said.
Pitso currently has the top job at United Arab Emirates Pro League outfit Al Wahda.
