Ntseki defends Kaizer Chiefs bluntness in attack

Chiefs were held to a goalless draw by Chippa on Sunday. There has been criticism that they didn’t create enough chances. There have also been calls for the Glamour Boys to sign another striker. However, Ntseki has suggested that it’s too early to pass judgement. Most of the attackers weren’t fully fit for pre-season, especially new boy Ranga Chivaviro.

“Having Ranga (Chivaviro) playing for the first time since he joined the team, of which he was not 100 percent, coming from a medical situation, we can only build on this in terms of the understanding of the front three, the movements, how do you move opponents, how do you create those spaces for us to score,” Ntseki said in the press conference after the game.

“How we prepared for the season, we had too many of our attackers being on the injury list, that’s why it was a bit difficult to have the right combination, the right understanding, the right tactical cohesion especially going forward.

“We missed the likes of (Pule) Mmodi. These are players who will be coming back into the team and we’ll be working on those phases and moments of the game, where we have to create more and score from those situations,” he said.
