Moroka Swallows are starting to show signs of possibly flying again. The DStv Premiership giants have signed seven new players.

It’s not all over for Moroka Swallows. The Dube Birds are rebuilding a squad for the second round.

NEW MOROKA SWALLOWS PLAYERS

According to the leading SABC Sport reporter Mazola Molefe, Swallows have singed seven new players, and the list includes a couple of familiar names.

The names are former Orlando Pirates players Ntsikelelo Nyauza (defender) and Augustine Mahlonoko (attacking midfielder), as well as the likes of Letsie Koapeng (striker), right back Basil Mphahlele, central midfielder Roland Sanou, and attackers Lwanda Mbanjwa and Jacob Everson.

SPRING- SUMMER CHAOS

So why have Swallows signed so many new players in January?

The trouble started when the club failed to pay players in November 2023.

The Swallows squad reacted by staying away from training and two matches against Mamelodi Sundowns and Golden Arrows.

The result was the Premier Soccer League’s decision to fine Swallows R1 Million, of which R600,000 was suspended for 24 months.

Swallows turned around and fired 22 players with immediate effect:

  4. Bongani Sam
  5. Mthokozisi Shwabule
  6. Vusi Sibiya
  7. Lentshane Phalane
  8. Tumelo Mangweni

  10. Wandisile Letlabika
  11. Givemore Khupe
  12. Thandolwethu Ngwenya
  13. Wade Poole
  14. Siyabonga Khumalo
  15. Falakhe Tshanini
  16. Owethu Khumalo
  17. Mbulelo Wambi
  18. Mkhuseli Rampa
  19. Ntsako Makhubela
  20. Lindokuhle Mtshali
  21. Kwanda Mngonyama
  22. Tlakusani Mthethwa.

Meanwhile, Swallows will be in action against Polokwane City at home this Saturday at 15:30.
