Former Kaizer Chiefs winger Mandla Masango has bizarrely responded to a question on whether or not he has retired from professional football.

Former Kaizer Chiefs winger Mandla Masango has bizarrely responded to a question on whether or not he has retired from professional football.

Masango last kicked a ball in a competitive match in 2018 when he was still on the books of Danish side Randers FC.

At one stage in 2017, Randers sent Masango out on loan to SuperSport United but the winger wasn’t offered a permanent deal at the end of his loan deal.

Now, asked if he has retired from professional football having last played four years ago, Masango said: “Only God knows.”

“I didn’t say yes, and I didn’t say no,” added the former Bafana Bafana international when pressed for a straight answer as per TimesLIVE.

FOOTBALL IS MY LIFE, SAYS EX-CHIEFS STAR MANDLA MASANGO

While he didn’t want to confirm whether or not he has retired, Masango said he still hasn’t lost the passion for football even four years after disappearing from the public eye.

The now 33-year-old said he’s always training on his own, adding that he plays indoor soccer to maintain his body.

“Football is my life. Whether I’m playing or not, I’m always training. I play indoor soccer, and I train to keep fit. That’s why my body is like this,” added Masango.

Masango spent eight years at Chiefs between 2007 and 2015 where he played 125 matches, scoring 14 goals while providing 11 assists.

At Randers, Masango featured 32 times in the 18 months he spent there and netted seven goals while he scored four goals in 18 matches for SuperSport United.
