There was really no chance Mamelodi Sundowns would deny Rhulani Mokwena a new contract. Here is the man himself reacting to the deal.

MAMELODI SUNDOWNS: RHULANI MOKWENA SIGNS A NEW DEAL

Speaking to the media since he put pen to paper on the contract last week, the 36-year-old Mokwena has expressed his love for the club.

“I love this club. I am falling in love with it every single day. I get incredible support from the club, the chairman, the Motsepe family and the board.

“And there’s a very good relationship with the players. What more can a coach ask for?” Mokwena added.

WHY HE GOT THE NEW DEAL

Additionally, the club’s chairman Thlopane Motsepe has explained why the decision was a no-brainer.

“…what this means is we will have four more years of success,” Motsepe said.

“Four more years of hard work and dedication. And four more years of joy, trophies, and wonderful memories of the yellow nation.

“Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard. But on top of that he is talented.

“He [Mokwena] does have the ability to be a great coach. But he doesn’t take that for granted. That’s why I believe he’s such a great fit for a club like Mamelodi Sundowns because our motto says that ‘the sky is the limit.’

“We have a leader on the pitch who matches our philosophy.

He’s daring, he’s bold, and he’s committed. But more than anything he wants to inspire through his craft through, the game of football. That’s what you want to do as a football club as well,” the young Sundowns top boss concluded.
