Are Orlando Pirates fans still feeling down? Thembinkosi Lorch is a Mamelodi Sundowns footballer and he can’t wait to meet Themba Zwane and Teboho Mokoena.

THEMBINKOSI LORCH LEAVES ORLANDO PIRATES FOR MAMELODI SUNDOWNS

With obvious ambitions to become CAF Champions League winners and then compete at the FIFA Club World Cup in 2025, Sundowns have signed Lorch.

The news was announced by Pirates on Friday evening before Sundowns made their own confirmation last Saturday.

“Thembinkosi Lorch is to leave Orlando Pirates Football Club after a discussion between the Chairman Dr. Irvin Khoza and the Mamelodi Sundowns hierarchy,” Pirates stated.

“The Club thanks “Nyoso” for his immense contribution by adding another page in the history of the Club.

“We wish him and his family well in his future sporting pursuit,” Pirates concluded.

The former Maluti FET College, Cape Town All Stars and Chippa United star said he is feeling mixed emotions.

Lorch leaves Pirates after 34 goals and 30 in 176 matches, including MTN8, Nedbank Cup and PSL Player of the Year titles.

LORCH ON HIS NEW TEAMMATES

With 10 Kabo Yellow players still on Bafana Bafana duty at Afcon 2023, Lorch is looking forward to meeting them in a few weeks.

“It will be good to meet up again with Themba Zwane, Teboho Mokoena, Ronwen Williams and many others from Bafana Bafana,” Lorch told the Mamelodi Sundowns Magazine.

“I look forward to working with them and contributing to the success of the team here at Sundowns,” Lorch concluded.
