Mamelodi Sundowns to take major decision on African star

Mamelodi Sundowns FC are exploring the idea of sending Ethiopian star Abubeker Nassir out on loan!

The speedy winger showed glimpses of his talent during his first full season at the club.

However, injuries plagued the 23-year-old at Masandawana.

The Ethiopian international made 15 appearances for the Brazilians, just four of which being starts!

Mamelodi Sundowns to send Nassir out on loan?

“He has spent most of his time at the club out injured. Even as we speak, now he is injured and missed his country’s encounter against Malawi in the Afcon qualifiers.” an insider told SoccerLaduma.

“So, the team wants to bring in a foreign player who would be fit for most of the time and help the team. They don’t doubt (Ahmed’s) capabilities as a player but he spends a lot of time in the casualty ward at the club.

“So, they have decided or they are planning to loan him out. It’s a decision that the technical team and management have both agreed to so it will not be that difficulty to implement.”

In other news, DR Congo star midfielder Fabrice Ngoma is open to joining Kaizer Chiefs ahead of next season.

The talented midfielder has previously been linked with a move to the Glamour Boys however his long-term contract at Al Hilal was a major stumbling block in the past.

Chiefs have been urged to sign top quality players in order to close the gap between them and Mamelodi Sundowns.

The good news however is that the 29-year-old DR Congo international is now a free agent!

This comes after Sudanese giants Al Hilal were forced to terminate his contract due to civil unrest in the country!

“Sources suggest that Kaizer Chiefs have been alerted to Ngoma’s availability. And if they are still interested in his services, they have the opportunity to secure his signature.” a Citizen report read.

“The club will need to make a decision on whether to pursue the player or explore other options for their squad.

“A source close to the matter revealed that Ngoma is keen on joining Chiefs, considering them to be his preferred choice.”
