Mamelodi Sundowns latest: Another coach demoted!
Mamelodi Sundowns have taken a decision to demote another coach as the new season is about to get underway this weekend.

Mamelodi Sundowns have taken a decision to demote another coach as the new season is about to get underway this weekend.

According to a statement released on Monday, Sundowns legend Surprise Moriri will no longer be in charge of the DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) team.
Sundowns said Moriri will now be coaching the club’s U19 team, and expectations are that Sinethemba Badela will take over the DDC team.

Badela is on his way to Chloorkop as he’s currently unattached to any team following the sale of All Stars FC to Black Leopards.
Moriri becomes the second big name to be demoted at Sundowns in less than a year after Manqoba Mngqithi in October 2022.

Mngqithi was the club’s co-coach alongside Rhulani Mokwena when the 2022-23 season started but that role was given to the latter in October and he went on to win the league.

“Mamelodi Sundowns announced that former player Surprise Moriri has been appointed as the new Head Coach of the Sundowns U/19 team.
“During the past season, Surprise Moriri was the Coach of Mamelodi Sundowns Diski team which was 6th on the Diski log table.
“The Youth and Academy structures of Mamelodi Sundowns which includes 13 year old recruits is important and is part of the development and investment commitments for the future of Mamelodi Sundowns.
“Mamelodi Sundowns will make announcements in due course regarding Academy Coaches that have been recruited and employed.”
