Former Orlando Pirates striker Ndumiso Mabena looks set to join a new PSL side!

Mabena’s return to the Buccaneers was far from magical and the 36-year-old was cut loose by the club at the close of last season.

According to the latest reports, the striker is set to join DStv Premiership new-comers Polokwane City FC!

Mabena to move on from Orlando Pirates disaster

“Former Orlando Pirates striker Ndumiso Mabena has arrived at newly promoted side Polokwane City.” an IdiskiTimes report read.

“Mabena recently left Pirates after just six months after joining the Buccaneers during the 2022 FIFA World Cup break.

“Mabena has now resurfaced at newly-promoted Polokwane City with hope of signing a contract, and, according to a close source, the 2011/12 treble winner is already training with Rise and Shine.”

In other news, Edward “Magents” Motale has made a bold statement regarding the current Orlando Pirates squad.

The Buccaneers are currently on a 15-game unbeaten streak and are looking like a well oiled machine of late.

And according to the Bucs legend, pound for pound, the Mayfair side are the best team on the continent!

“No, we don’t have the right team. We have the best team. We have good players in all the departments. Looking at how we won the two trophies and finished second in the league shows you how good the team is.” Motale told SoccerLaduma.

“That’s (Orlando Pirates’ pre-season camp in Spain) great. It’s really a great move. They will see how the Spaniards and other countries do things.

“They should play Spanish, German and English teams so that when they go to Cameroon or Ghana then they are not intimidated.

“Also, it’s summer there and it’s good to train there because in other parts of Africa it’s very hot so they should get used to playing in that heat as early as possible. It’s really good that they went to Spain.”
