Khune full of praise for Pirates coach Jose Riveiro

Itumeleng Khune hailed PSL All Stars selected coach Jose Riveiro after the team defeated Carling Knockout champions Stellenbosch FC 2-1 at Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Khune, who was captain of the All Stars, pulled off some amazing saves which earned him Man of the Match.

Khune earns Man of the Match against Stellies

“I think the results and performance today gives you answers of how he is as a coach. Since he’s been in the country, he has won two(three) cups already for his club,” he said.

“It gives you a sense that he is a great coach and the fact that his club went all the way to Spain to get him and they believe in him. Same as the fans back at home, they voted for him amongst the 16 other coaches, so it shows the quality as a coach, it shows how dedicated he is to the game and his winning mentality,” Khune said after the match.

Khune, who captain the team, told SABC Sport that he was just happy to play and represent everyone.

“I wasn’t here to prove any point to anybody,” Khune told SABC.

“I was here to honour the game that I was voted for to come and represent everyone that has voted for me.

“So I’m happy that I came with a positive mindset, with a winning mentality. All the players have played their part today, he said.
