Karim Kimvuidi’s HUGE price tag revealed as Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns circle!

Maritzburg United are believed to be willing to let star player Karim Kimvuidi go, amid strong interest from Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns, but a huge cost!

Although Kaizer Chiefs have also been occasionally mentioned as an interested party in Kimvuidi, it has mostly been Pirates and Sundowns at the forefront.

So far, Pirate have already confirmed that they have signed TS Galaxy goalkeeper Melusi Buthelezi, All Stars midfielder Siphelo Baloni,  Marumo Gallants winger Katlego Otladisa and SuperSport United’s Patrick Maswanganyi, who were all unveiled by the Soweto giants last week.

One the other hand, Sundowns have already announced the signing of Lesiba Nku from Gallants, with the impending announcements of Junior Mendieta and Brazilian striker Lucas Ribeiro Costa also believed to be set to be unveiled soon.

Besides those names, Pirates are believed to be in talks to sign Sicelo Hlatshwayo, a defender that can play both centrally or on the right hand side. They will be hoping to wrap up a deal with Golden Arrows, whom they have a very good relationship with. Pirates are also thought to have been offered the opportunity to re-sign former fan favourite Andile Jali, as well as another Galaxy player and recent Bafana Bafana call up, Bathusi Aubaas. Sundowns are thought to still be tracking Thapelo Maseko from rivals SuperSport, but both teams are thought to still have Kimvuidi on their respective wish lists.

The race between Pirates and Sundowns for Kimvuidi has been a rather interesting one, with both sides supposedly exchanging the lead in his chase. Maritzburg, through their chairman Farouk Kadodia have always maintained that they would require top dollar for any of their key players and would just release them easily because of their relegation. 

Maritzburg want R15 million for Kimvuidi, Pirates and Sundowns to pay?

Now according to KickOff.com Maritzburg have slapped a hefty R15 million price tag on Kimvuidi. It was previously thought that the price tag was R20 million. Will either Pirates or Sundowns end up paying that amount, or will they again wait for the KZN side to drop the valuation before pouncing?
