Kaizer Chiefs and their fans are pondering their latest defeat in the DStv Premiership.

Amakhosi went down 2-1 at their once fortress FNB Stadium on Wednesday, 17 February against Benni McCarthy’s Usuthu side.

Augustine Mulenga opened the scoring for AmaZulu in first-half injury time.

Leonardo Castro levelled matters from the penalty spot in the 67th minute, but Usuthu clinched victory thanks to an 85th minute winner from Lehlohonolo Majoro.

Amakhosi weren’t helped by a red card shown to Darrel Matsheke in the 72nd minute.

After 16 matches this season, Kaizer Chiefs only have 18 points – exactly HALF that of leaders Mamelodi Sundowns.

Kaizer Chiefs have won four, lost six and drawn six of their matches to date.

They have also only scored 17 goals (while conceding 19) at an average barely over a single goal per match.

Life doesn’t get much easier for Kaizer Chiefs who are now ninth in the standings.
