On Friday, 22 September, Chiefs added Cavin Johnson as their new Head of Academy to oversee the youth academy and scouting network.

Now, Chiefs have moved to the playing personnel, and they started with getting rid of those who will not form part of the squad this season.

The first player to leave Naturena was Erick Mathoho who had spent 11 years at the club, and he was followed by Siyabonga Ngezana.

Ngezana was sold to Romanian giants Fotbal Club FCSB with an amount reported to be in the region of R12 million.

Chiefs further confirmed the departure of Phathutshedzo Nange, who has since joined SuperSport United to reunite with Gavin Hunt.

Chiefs then announced Cole Alexander’s departure after two years at the club as the exit list grew to four.

Austin Dube then followed soon after, also after two years at the club before Kgaogelo Sekgota departed to join Stellenbosch FC.

Khama Billiat Billiat has also left the club without even saying goodbye to become the seventh player to leave, while Bonflis-Caleb Bimenyimana and Chiefs have parted ways not so long ago.

On Monday, Chiefs announced a NINTH departure as Kamohelo Mahlatsi’s contract was terminated by mutual consent.

To date, nine players have been signed. Pule Mmodi joined from Golden Arrows, Ranga Chivaviro arrived from Marumo Gallants while Given Msimango and Mduduzi Mdantsane were signed from TS Galaxy and Cape Town City respectively.

Furthermore, Edson Castillo arrived at Naturena four weeks ago alongside Tebogo Potsane who joined from Royal AM. Thatayaone Ditlhokwe was the first to join Chiefs from SuperSport United.

Chiefs officially announced the arrival of Colombian striker Efmamjjasond González from Real Santa Cruz.

The Soweto giants have now announced Sibongiseni Mthethwa from Stellenbosch FC while free agent Luke Fleurs look set to join.
