KAIZER CHIEFS TO SIGN KEAGAN JOHANNES FROM SUPERSPORT UNITED

There’s nothing valuable like a fairly young player with extensive experience in the same league. Chiefs are reportedly eyeing United’s Johannes. At 23, the Cape Town Spurs graduate already has 72 games in South Africa’s premier division. Johannes, who can play at right-back as well as in central defence, has also represented the national U23 team on three ocassions.

Full Statistics:

  1. Right back: 46 appearances with two goals
  2. Central defence: 19 appearances with two goals
  3. Right midfield: One appearance with zero goals.

Despite having three right-backs in Reeve Frosler, Zitha Kwinika and Dillan Solomons, Amakhosi are said to be chasing Johannes. According to the latest report, Chiefs have been tracking Johannes for over a season. Amakhosi showed interest to sign the Bavis Lavis-raised star around the same time as former SuperSport captain Thatayano Ditlhokwe.

“The club is interested in Kegan (Johannes). They have been monitoring him for some time now and they would really want to have him at the start of the season,” a source told Soccer Laduma.

“Even last season before signing Give Ditlhokwe and even Luke Fleurs, they [Chiefs] wanted get him and that’s why he is back on the radar now,” the source added.
