Kaizer Chiefs have identified several targets and two of them are SuperSport players. This development isn’t good news though.

Amakhosi target Johannes staying put at SuperSport

According to the latest media reports, rumoured Kaizer Chiefs target Kegan Johannes has signed a new deal with Matsatsantsa. The versatile Cape Town-born 23-year-old can operate in several positions, specialising at right back but he’s more than comfortable in the centre. Johannes has appeared 16 times in the league this term.

“SuperSport United has extended the stay of defender Kegan Johannes for another two years after spending four years in the capital city,” iDiskiTimes reported.

“iDiskiTimes understands that SuperSport exercised a two-year option on Johannes which will keep him in the capital city until 2026.

“Speculation on Johannes’ future had been growing with reported interest from several clubs,” the outlet concluded.

WHEN DOES DITLHOKWE RETURN?

The last time 25-year-old Thatayaone Ditlhokwe featured for Chiefs was against Orlando Pirates in the Soweto Derby on 11 November 2023. In his long-term absence, Cavin Johnson has utilized Edmilson Dove and Njabulo Ngcobo as partners for Given Msimango in the heart of defence. These experiments have produced some mixed results.

Thatayaone Ditlhokwe has become a cornerstone of the Chiefs’ back four. He dislocated his shoulder while on international duty in October. Skipper of his country, big things are expected of this man at club level too. Ditlhokwe underwent surgery on December 11th and a three-month timeframe was provided for his return. According to FarPost, he’s nearing a return after returning to full training. This is a timeous boost for the player and his manager.
