Why Kaizer Chiefs legend didn’t move abroad

“I have no complaints about not being able to play overseas because I know it was my height that hindered the move there.” Itumeleng Khune said as quoted by Citizen.

“Clubs that side said they preferred tall goalkeepers. I think that even though I have been here at Kaizer Chiefs for 20 years. I have been able to use the opportunity to achieve what I have achieved.

“I don’t regret that I played in one team all my life. I am grateful for the opportunity they gave me. It is not everyone who gets to 20 years of doing what you love – which is playing football in my case.”

His former coach Nhlanhla Vilakazi has since opened on losing his star man.

“Psychologically, he is definitely strong. He is a very strong somebody. I know that when he was playing for us, in the last six months everyone was saying ‘Pule must stay on the side’ because he is leaving the club. But he still played his part, so he is strong mentally and I am sure he will do wonders for Kaizer Chiefs.” Vilakazi told members of the media.
