Kaizer Chiefs hire new coach! – Report

Kaizer Chiefs have hired a new coach to join their staff as Amakhosi management looks to return to their glory days.

Chiefs recently appointed Henning Gericke.

He is a high-performance coach and a widely respected sports Psychologist.

CHIEFS HIRE NEW HIGH-PERFORMANCE COACH

Gericke was spotted alongside Amakhosi earlier this season.

Thus sparking speculation over his potential appointment.

Now, he has reportedly actually been hired by Amakhosi.

“Amakhosi recently made a bold move by appointing renowned sports psychologist Dr Henning Gericke to their technical team as a high-performance coach,” the report read on FarPost.

Understandably, this is seen as a signal of intent and ambition from Amakhosi management.

Gericke has worked with the Springboks, Bafana Bafana and the Proteas. Furthermore, he was part of the Springboks side that won the 2007 Rugby World Cup.

GERICKE TO GET THE BEST OUT OF AMAKHOSI

He has his PhD in sports psychology and has had a remarkable impact on every side he has joined.

After winning the Rugby World Cup with the Boks in 2007, he went on to inspire Bafana Bafana, who upset France and were a point away from making the Round of 16 in the FIFA World Cup in South Africa (2010). He then worked with the Proteas, helping to inspire the likes of Hashim Amla, Jacques Kallis and AB de Villiers.

Therefore, he is gifted at getting the best out of his players. Since joining Amakhosi, they have won two matches in a row in the DStv Premiership and pushed Mamelodi Sundowns to the brink of defeat. Unfortunately, The Brazilians equalized in injury time, but the focus is on his impact and the possibility of this squad reaching their potential. A prospect to excite Amakhosi fans after a frustrating few seasons at Naturena.
