Nakanjani: One signing Chiefs will make, but when?

We’re getting ever closer to the January transfer window. Kaizer Chiefs seem inactive but are they really? We doubt it.

Kaizer Chiefs may or may not fully please fans in the looming January transfer window, but there is one quality signing that seems a sure case.

KAIZER CHIEFS TO SIGN PULE MMODI

The reports have been doing the rounds for a quite a while, Pule Mmodi looks destined for a career at Amakhosi.

The Theunissen-born player was moments away from becoming a Glamour Boy in June-July before Chiefs mistakenly decided to pause the pursuit. The Golden Arrows winger responded to the bitter disappointment with four goals and one assist in 13 games.

We’re putting our head in the block to say the 29-year-old is getting a new parking lot at Naturena.

Meanwhile, Arthur Zwane’s side were glaringly weak in the right and left wing positions. Though Kgaogelo Sekgota began well, he was not scoring enough goals and had no support on the opposite wing nor competition for a starting place.

So, it is a matter of time before the 12-time league champions complete the deal to sign Mmodi, will it be in January or June 2023? Our guess is this week or the next.

Meanwhile, Amakhosi will face Mmodi’s Arrows at KwaMashu on 31 December at 15:30.
