Luke Fleurs is reportedly on his way to Naturena for an assessment following his departure from SuperSport United on Monday.

According to SABC Sport, Fleurs left SuperSport United after being told that he cannot be guaranteed game time this season.

This despite Matsatsantsa offering Fleurs a new deal in January which was supposed to have expired in June 2026.

At the time, Chiefs were interested in Fluers, and Matsatsantsa’s move to offer him the deal was an attempt to ward off that interest.

Chiefs then opted to sign Thatayaone Ditlhokwe on a pre-contract, and that somehow left the SuperSport United management fuming.

“SABC Sport can confirm defender Luke Fleurs has left SuperSport United, which immediately makes the player a free agent,” reports the publication.

“Furthermore, the public broadcaster can reveal the 23-year-old might not be short of suitors as Kaizer Chiefs are understood to have invited the centre-back for an assessment at their base in Naturena,” added the report.

SIYANDA XULU’S ARRIVAL TO BLAME FOR FLEURS WOES?

Following Ditlhokwe’s move to Chiefs in July, Gavin Hunt needed an equally experienced centre-back, and he opted for Siyanda Xulu.

However, it seems Xulu’s arrival somehow paved way for Fleurs as the Bafana Bafana international walked straight into Hunt’s team.

Fleurs will hope to impress at Chiefs, especially after learning that they are looking for a defender as Molefi Ntseki confirmed last week.
