Sizwe Motaung, an AFCON winner in 1996, was the very first player in the PSL era to cross the Soweto divide. Marks Maponyane and Ace Khuse are two of a select breed of footballer to score in the Soweto Derby for both clubs. Can you name the others?
Also, we would be remiss if we didn’t mention cult hero Collins Mbesuma. The Zambian’s goal-scoring exploits earned him a move to Premier League side Portsmouth in 2005. All-in-all, Mbesuma bagged 55 goals in 173 DStv Premiership clashes. 25 goals in the 2004-05 PSL season remains a record that is unlikely to be touched, and it belongs to Collins “Ntofo-Ntofo” Mbesuma. What a player. He got 35 across all competitions in that campaign!
