The year was 2018 when Jali was returning to Mzansi from a spell in Belgium with Oostende.

Most football fans know that Jali loves the nunmber 15 jersey. The same fans are also aware that Chiefs retired the just to honour the great Doctor Khumalo.

Speaking to the media on Thursday, Jali revealed that the retired jersey number 15 at Chiefs had nothing to do with his decision to join Sundowns instead of Amakhosi.

“No [there was never such a conversation]. You can’t talk about a number when you don’t have a contract,” Jali said as quoted by FARPost.

“You have not even arrived at training, but you want to talk about a jersey number? It’s not possible,” Jali added.

Meanwhile, interim coach Johson was left unhappy last weekend. Chiefs delivered a dreary 0-0 draw with Royal AM at the Harry Gwala Stadium.

“I don’t know what I need to say,” Johnson said to SuperSport, as quoted by iDiskiTimes.

“Yes, we missed very big chances. I think we missed four one-on-ones; Ashley [Du Preez] had four times one-on-ones; he should have scored the goal. We didn’t get it. But did we play well today? No, I don’t think so. I am not happy with my performance as our team, I think our team is a lot better than what we showed today.

“Yes, their goalkeeper gets man of the match, ja, it tells you a lot, but as a tactician, as a guy who sits on the bench, and watching his team play, and watching what his team went through at training sessions, and how they can play, and how they can be more confident on the ball, ja, we didn’t see a lot of that.

“We didn’t see enough of that in order for us to, yes, we missed the chances, but we should have really, really won the game,” the Chiefs tactician concluded.
