While the Soweto giants reportedly agreed on terms to sign Edson Castillo, new reports suggest Venda Football Academy’s midfield cog, Tatenda Tavengwa, is another target.

The 26-year-old Zimbabwean, who joined VFA last season from Caps United, caught the eye after a stellar season in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, where he quickly earned the nickname of Real Madrid’s silky French midfielder Eduardo Camavinga.

AMAKHOSI TO SIGN AMAZULU’S MHANGO?

Staying with the Glamour Boys, the club is believed to be targeting a former Orlando Pirates Soweto derby hero.

Following an underwhelming season (six goals and two assists in 22 games) under one-too many different coaches, Mhango is now linked with a move to Naturena to become a Glamour Boy.

According to Goal, the 30-year-old attacker from Chiweta will be among an exodus of players set to be released by AmaZulu by 30 June or earlier.

An unnamed source has since suggested that Amakhosi are waiting to make a fast move on Mhango.

“Kaizer Chiefs are believed to be ready to pounce on the former Orlando Pirates striker as they look to bolster their attack with more experienced players ahead of next season,” the report said.
