Revealed: Chiefs will beef up this position

Kaizer Chiefs supporters should be glad the club is getting another signing. Here’s the word from Bobby Motaung.

Kaizer Chiefs have dispelled reports to sign Gabadinho Mhango, but something is in the works.

KAIZER CHIEFS NOT SIGNING GABADINHO MHANGO?

Speaking to the media last weekend, the club’s Football Manager, Bobby Motaung, said Amakhosi are not signing Mhango, but the club is working on getting a striker.

“I don’t have names at the moment. Kaizer Jr. deals with the names, I deal with the team, the whole team, the football environment,” Motuang told SuperSport TV on Saturday.

“But no Gabadinho Mhango but we are trying to beef up our striking force. We’ve got two, three injuries in the striking department,so we’re trying to beef up that department.

“Not Gabadinho Mhango, but Kaizer Jr. will announce, soon.”

Meanwhile, Ntseki’s first major test will be at home to Chippa United on Sunday, 6 August.

NEW YOUNGSTER SPOTTED AT NATURENA

In other news, Chiefs fans could have a new youngster to fall in love with. A new talent has been spotted with the Amakhosi senior team.

Following the departures of Erick Mathoho and Thabani Dube, while Edmilson Dove has seemingly moved to left-back, Amakhosi have apparently promoted Siyabonga Gumede.

The 19-year-old central defender was spotted with the senior team on Wednesday, where he is expected to be the understudy to the likes of Thatayaone Ditlhlokwe, Njabulo Ngcobo and Given Msimango.

Meanwhile, the Glamour Boys will begin the new season at home to Chippa United in Durban on Sunday 6 August.

WINGER LEAVES CHIEFS

Additionally, Kgaogelo Sekgota, who had worn the jersey number 14 that Gumede has taken, is now a former Chiefs player.

“Winger, Kgaogelo Sekgota has departed Kaizer Chiefs after spending two years with the Club. His new Club will make an announcement in due course after finalising all the paperwork pertaining to his registration.

“We thank KG for all his efforts and wish him well for the rest of his footballing career,” the report added.

According to SABC Sports’ leading reporter Mazola Molefe, the former Bidvest Wits winger, who missed selection in last weekend’ 1-0 loss to Township Rollers, has joined Stellies.

“Stellenbosch FC have finalised the signing of their prized possession yet, as much sought-after winger Kgaogelo Sekgota puts pen to paper,” the outlet reported.

Meanwhile, the 26-year-old from Polokwane’s Seshego could make his debut for Stellies against Orlando Pirates on Saturday at 20:00 in the Winelands.

Following the arrivals of Pule Mmodi and Tebogo Potsane, the Soweto giants have released Kgaogelo Sekgota.

“Player Updates: Chiefs and Sekgota Part Ways,” the club posted on social media.
