KAIZER CHIEFS SIGNING OF THE DAY: VALERY NAHAYO

The PSL once had a team called Jomo Cosmos that had a rather sharp eye for talent. One of Ezenkosi’s products was the towering Nahayo.

The Burundian central defender made his move to Naturena in 2008. It was where he spent three seasons that included a Coca Cola Cup title in 2011.

The same Cup success played a role in Nahayo’s following move to Belgium’s Gent in July 2011.

SIBONGISENI MTHETHWA EXPECTED TO SHINE

Talking about Chiefs transfers, the newly arrived Sibongiseni Mthethwa is expected to become an instant succcess.

According to the Chiefs’ former number six, Willard Katsande, Mthethwa is simply a PSL-proven signing.

“Personally for me, the team did a great job by bringing him. Why? He is strong, mature and he knows the league,” Katsande told iDiski Times.

“There’s no time for us to say he’s going to adapt ’cause he grew up here, he knows what it is to be at Kaizer Chiefs. He is also a leader and a national team player.

“I feel now I can rest from hearing that I wasn’t replaced. I wish him all the best, but my little piece of advice to him… He is coming as a highly-rated player, there is too much hype around his signing.

“He just needs to focus on his game and what he does best not try to do things he never did. He must continue doing what made him a household name. But I’m 100 % optimistic that he will conquer,” the man known as ‘Salt n Pepper’ concluded.

NEXT DSTV PREMIERSHIP FIXTURE

Meanwhile, Chiefs are preparing for the next PSL game after a spirited 2-1 over Sekhukhune United last Wednesday in Durban.

Molefi Ntseki’s side will welcome Eric Tinkler’s Cape Town City to the FNB Stadium on Tuesday, 3 October at 19:30.
