Chiefs starting 11 with new youngsters

It’s nearly time to watch Kaizer Chiefs in the second round of the DStv Premiership season this weekend.

KAIZER CHIEFS PROMOTE TWO NEW PLAYERS

As confirmed in the previous weeks, Amakhosi‘s interim coach, Cavin Johnson, has delivered what he is famous for.

The former Cape Town Spurs and Mamelodi Sundowns academy leader has promoted Mfundo Vilakazi and Donay Jansen to the Chiefs first team.

The two youngsters earned their stripes in the club’s DStv Diski Challange as attacking midfielders/ wingers.

With Chiefs overstacked in the number 10 position, we can expect both Jansen and Vilakazi to get opportunities as a wide forward and central midfielder, respectively.

STARTING LINE-UP WITH JANSEN AND VILAKAZI

Looking at the previous line-up, Jasond Gonzalez and Nkosingiphile Ngcobo had a lacklustre output against Sekhukhune United in December.

Jansen will, therefore, take Gonzalez’s place as a wide forward, while Ashely du Preez will move from the right to the central position.

Vilakazi is a straight change to replace Ngcobo as a left-sided central midfielder.

Line-up: Bruce Bvuma, Reeve Frosler, Given Msimango, Edmilson Dove, Sibongiseni Mthethwa, Yusuf Maart, Mfundo Vilakazi, Pule Mmodi, Donay Jansen, Ashley du Preez.
