Many Kaizer Chiefs supporters have been excited for weeks. Mfundo Vilakazi is a senior team footballer.

KAIZER CHIEFS PROMOTE MFUNDO VILAKAZI
After shining bright in the Carling All Stars match against Stellenbosch FC in the New Year, the 18-year-old Vilakazi fast-tracked his promotion.
The news of his promotion was confirmed by Amakhosi‘s DStv Diski Challenge coach, Vela Khumalo, in mid-January.

Vilakazi, better known as “Obrigado” in Soweto, plays his football as a left-footed attacking midfielder/winger and has six goals in four games for the reserve team.
He has since made the match-day squad and was on the bench during the 0-0 draw with Royal AM on Sunday.

JERSEY NUMBER SPOTTED
While the beloved Chiefs youngster is yet to make his debut, his jersey number has been spotted during Sunday’s warm-ups.
Vilakazi was spotted with jersey number 28.

In the meanwhile, the Glamour Boys are preparing for Nedbank Cup last 32 action.
Chiefs will host Motsepe Foundation Championship (MFC) side Milford FC. The game will kick off on Sunday evening at 18:00 from the FNB Stadium.
