Kaizer Chiefs: Nabi deal in trouble! Candidates if deal falls through

Nassredine Nabi potential move to Kaizer Chiefs may have hit a snag. We take a look at the leading candidates if the deal falls through.

Nabi’s recent actions could result in the former Yanga SC coach losing out on the Amakhosi job.

This is because Amakhosi management are unhappy with him going public about potentially taking over the Chiefs hotseat.

CHIEFS UNHAPPY WITH NABI’S MEDIA INTERACTION

Nabi will be hoping that history does not repeat itself.

This is because the last time a coach spoke to the media about potentially joining Amakhosi, he lost out on the position.

Amrouche was linked with the Amakhosi job before he spoke to the media.

“You will remember the same happened with Adel Amrouche when he was talking to Chiefs? He spoke to the media about the pending move and that is how it ended. Chiefs did not want to do anything with him after that,” said an insider on Mgosi on Phakaaati.

Now, there is a chance that it could cost Nabi the position too.

“Nabi may also face a similar situation. But we will see,” the source added.

CANDIDATES FOR AMAKHOSI JOB IF NABI DEAL FALLS THROUGH

International coaches Fernando Da Cruz and Florent Ibenge and local coach Brandon Truter are all in line for the Amakhosi job if the Nabi deal falls through.

Ibenge lead RS Berkane to the CAF Confederation Cup, over rivals Orlando Pirates. So, he is a strong candidate while Da Cruz is interested in this position having found out about the stalled Nabi talks. The Frenchman has coached Lille in France so he has experienced the intensity of Europe football.

Finally, Truter was one of the coaches being looked at before Nabi. If the deal falls through, Amakhosi management could consider any of these three men as experienced coaches who could work alongside Arthur Zwane.
